So I watched Prometheus in theater, like the title suggests.
Don't read if you don't want anything ruined. But, I don't really plan on talking about the plot.. so whatever.
I happen to dislike 3D since it gives me headaches and just doesn't really do it for me overall. So, the bf and I watched it in good old regular version.
The movie was... interesting.
There were a couple scenes that would have been cool to watch in 3D, but it's definitely not necessary.
The storyline was cool, but I had some problems with it (will talk about it later).
I'm a geek at heart, so the whole scifi aspect was awesome.
With that said...
I have a few complaints about the movie.
1. I don't know when I will learn my lesson, but I really don't like alien movies. I absolutely HATED District 9. One of very few movies that I wanted to walk out of, but due to miscommunication with Jenn, we ended up staying the whole time, dying of disgust. And I just get really freaked/grossed out by the hollywood depiction of aliens. There were many parts that disgusted me in this particular movie, too. So, yea.. But, in my defense, I didn't REALLY know what the movie was about before I watched it lol. But, that's still my fault.. damn.
2. Call me ignorant and naive, but... I hate it when the movie maker asks questions in the movie and leaves me hanging in the end. ummm IF YOU ASK A DAMN QUESTION, I WANT ANSWERS because YOU (the movie maker) make it seem like you are going to effing provide answers. I hate loose ends. I WANT ANSWERS, DAMMIT. whatever.. I guess i'm not sophisticated enough to appreciate the unanswered bullshit movies. lol.
3. to me, it was a bummer ending. Why can't we leave feeling a bit optimistic, huh?
4. I didn't stay for the post-credit clip, but I saw it on youtube. it's not worth it.
But, it was cool. Charlize Theron is REALLY good at being the "hot bitch," as she described herself. lol
The ship, Prometheus, is awesome.
And David, the "robot", is really fuckin creepy, but GREAT ACTING!
blech,
Hayon
